El final es ambigüito y/o insatisfactorio: Eliza le canta las cuarenta a Higgins sobre por qué la ha tratado mal (la ha tratado como un ser inferior), está bien empoderada, se da cuenta que no le puede cambiar y decide pirarse. Corta a Higgins entendiendo que la va a echar de menos (cero amor romántico) pero resulta que Eliza vuelve y Higgins, en vez de abrazar ese sentimiento, le pregunta que dónde están las pantuflas... (aunque casi parece más una bromilla). En el músical original, Eliza se pira y no vuelve... que tiene mucho más sentido.
