Highlights

  • Software as a medium is so malleable that functionally anything can be made to work. Any language, architecture, approach, style, process, etc can be made to work given sufficient effort. Meaning we find ourselves not asked to choose between right and wrong answers, but between trade-offs.
  • Nobody has the time to approach the work thoughtfully,
  • Bottom up processes don’t work.
  • Individual teams, almost definitionally, aren’t in possession of the information and perspective to understand what is most important for the whole organization, and
  • start working on new things when you aren’t Planning.
